Overall, the majority of lands, apparently became less productive due to the over-grazing. Besides, Europe experienced the highest amount of land degraded with 23% in total.
Generally, the pie chart shows main reasons for land degradation. Initially, the most significant features that had the most effect on destruction of agricultural land were over-grazing and over-cultivation that there amount were almost the same respectively 35% and 30%. In contrast, the impact of deforestation was normal compared to other causes that was 28%. Although, there were other reasons for destruction which they were a mere 7% which could not be mentioned as a big problem. Shifting to the table, it can be seen that North America had particularly low levels of demolition with 5% in 1990. In contrast, the total land degraded in Europe was 23%, which was the biggest amount of degradation among other countries. In addition, the proportion of destructed land in Oceania was 13% that took the second place.
