The pie charts show the breakdown of cultural and free time entertainment for both girls and boys.
Overall, it is evident that girls and boys almost share no interests. However, listening to music was what both boys and girls did as their leisure time activities, both accounting for the same proportion.
Looking at the proportions for boys, computer games and basketball was what they spent their time on the most, having a share of 34% and 26% respectively. Reading, however, was the least preferred activity, occupying a percentage of only 2 percent. The third most favored activity was soccer, which accounted for 17%. Sharing almost the same percentage, listening to music occupied 10% of the chart, while skateboarding took marginally more, the share of which was 11%.
In terms of activities privileged by the girls, dancing and reading were the two dominating categories. Showing a vivid contrast in comparison with the proportions shared by the boys, reading was one of the most preferred pastime, which took 21% of the proportion. Netball and computer games presented a similar percentage of engagement, accounting for 15% and 16% respectively. Gymnastics occupied 11% of the proportion, while listening to music, matching the percentage recorded for boys, took only one tenth of the chart.
