In general, larger land are more likely to have more people live. The vast majority of population live in the largest region, Asia ; whilst the least amount of people in the tiniest continent, Oceania.

As shown in the upper pie chart, Asia has the biggest proportion of land at 30%, followed by Africa, which accounts for exactly one-fifth of total land area. Moreover, North America constitutes 16% of land, which is larger than Antarictica at 9%. South America is double that of Oceania, which is merely 6%. Europe is slightly larger than Oceania, with 7% of the total land.

In terms of the number of people, 61% of population live in Asia, which is 5 times that of European at 12%. By comparison, African accounts for 13% of global population, which outnumbers the quantity of people live in Europe. North American constitutes 8% of the total amount of people, whereas only 5.5% population in the world live in South America. The population in Oceania and Antarictica is negligible.
