The two given pie charts illustrate how Canadian youth used different gadgets to watch TV in 2009 and 2019.
Overall, it is clear that people used conventional TV much more often and tablets much less often in 2009, but 10 years later the situation changed.
In terms of the most significant features of the first chart, TV ranked first with regard to frequency, which was approximately twofold higher than the frequency of use of mobile phones and desktop computers. Additionally, on a large scale there was no significant difference between the frequency of use of tablets and flat-screen TVs (5% and 8% respectively).
In stark contrast, mobile phone usage was only 15% in 2009, but ten years later the figure rose significantly to 26%. Meanwhile, the difference in popularity percentage between flat-screen TVs and mobile phones was only 1%, and together they accounted for almost half of all device usage in 2019. Moreover, the level of use of desktops and laptops was 12%.
