The pie charts compare the proportion of time spent in a British university library by undergraduates, postgraduates and all other students.
Overall, postgraduates spend more time than all other students. It is clear that as students progress towards postgraduate level, the number of hours spent in the library increases.
Both undergraduates and all students use the least time at over 15 hours in the library, at 9% and 15% respectively. Between 8 and 14 hours, all students spent nearly a quarter of their time, while all people spent under three out of ten hours. Moreover, undergraduates and all students spent just over half of their time in the library, at 50% and 63%, respectively.
On the other hand, a majority of postgraduates (just over 50% percent) used the library for over 15 hours of their time. From 8 to 14 hours, the average proportion of library spending time was 32% for postgraduates. However, postgraduates spent only 17% of their time for 1 to 7 hours, which was significantly less than other students.
