The pie charts gives information regarding the proportion of five different types of books sold by a bookseller from 1972 to 2012. Overall, adult fiction and children’s fiction show an increased trend of the sales while the biography and non-included category of books decreased. It is also clear that in 1972 the sales for five types of books were quite even.
In 1972, the sales for adult fiction, children’s fiction and biography were the same, at one fifth. By 2012, the sales of adult fiction was increasing to nearly a half, which was the largest proportion shown on the chart. Children’s fiction also shown an increased trend to a quarter in 2012. In contrast, biography differs with both adult and children’s fiction, decreased to less than one ten.
On the other hand, non-included category of books had the highest sales in 2012, with a quarter then decreased two times lower in 2012. Lastly, travel books uplift to nearly one fifth in 1992 and downward to one ten in 2012.
