Overall it is clear that the percentage of purchasing books whose genres are adult fiction and children’s were dominant in all ages while that of other genres fell down as the time passed
Looking into details, in the very first period 3 types of book namely adult fiction, children’s fiction and biography were the dominant ones constituting 20%. Turning into 1992 the first 2 showed increases in their percentages by 5% and 2% in turn and the latter one, however, decreased to 15%. In 2012, adult fiction underwent a significant growth in percent compounding almost half percentage of a whole sale (45%) with the children’s fiction showing a 5% rise. The reverse was seen with the biography decreasing by 7%.
In 1972, Travel books were slightly popular among people as it can be seen from the percentage of 15. Then this number became merely higher by 3% in 1992 then it went down to 10% in the beginning of the new era. Others, however , experienced reduce in percentage in all 3 ages making up 25%, 20% and 12% consecutively.
