Overall, it is evident that Adult fiction and children’s fiction were highly favorite. Moreover, the percentage of these categories increased over the period, while the remainnings dropped and stayed unchanged.
In 1972, Aldult fiction started at 20%, then it jumped significantly to 45% in 2012, which was the top of race. The proportion of Children’s fiction was similar, however, being at slighter level. This type also accounted 20% in 1972 and then increased by 5% in 2012.
In terms of Others and Biography, there was a sharp decrease in both of them. Others fell from 25% ( in 1972 ) to only 12% ( in 2012 ), and Biography decreased by 12% over the period. Additionally, the percent of Travel had a fluctuation. It went up to 18% in 1992, but dropped again to 10% in 2012.
