The given pie charts delineate the average of five types of books sold by a bookseller from 1972 to 2012.

Overall, in1972 and 1992 the sales rate of five ypes of books was nearly the same, while in 2012 there was a clear gap in the sales rate.

In 1972, others were the highest with 25%, significantly higher than travel books (15%), while the sales of adult fiction, children’s fiction and biography were the same with 20%. Similarly, a smilar trend was observed in 1992, adult ficiton, children’s ficitoin and others were the top 3 best sellers with 25%, 22% and 20% respectively, while the average of travel and biography books was under 20%.

By contrast, in 2012 the percentage of adult ficiton books surpassed other kinds of books, this books accounted for nearly a half with 45%, twice as high as children’s fiction, and other kinds of books made up 30% collectively.
