The given pie chart demonstrates information about the percentage of students on an adult education centre taking various courses offered in 1985 and this year. The comparison is shown on the basis of cookery, fitness and dance, art, modern languages (French/German/Spanish), local history, music appreciation, and IT. Furthermore, various changes in courses can be seen then vs now. Options such as local history and music appreciation are nowhere to be seen this year; instead a new course, IT, is added to the list.
The course selected by majority of adults in 1985 was modern languages (24%), which switched to IT (27%) this year, though it is a new course. As compared to 1985, there is a slight fall in proportion of art and modern languages with a decrease of 2% and 7% respectively, this year. In contrast, adults’ interest in cookery rose a bit in comparison with 1985. Meanwhile, the number of adults choosing fitness and dance remained same for both the years.
Finally, to sum it up, though IT is a new course, it is selected by a majority of adults this year. At the same time, their interest in fitness and dance remained same.
