The pie charts present the proportion of energy sources in Australia in 2008 and give a prediction for 2030.
Overall, both the illustrations of 2008 and 2030 are occupied by coal, gas and oil mostly. Following these energy sources are wind, hydro and other sources. Solar sources also might be replaced by Geothermal in 2030.
In the first data in 2008, coal dominated the highest proportion (39.00%), followed by the second-highest oil (32.50%) and third place was occupied by gas (22.90%). However, in the predicted data in 2030, the proportion of oil energy sources will beat the proportion of coal and climb up the highest place with 35.50%, gas also might surpass coal and reach the second place (32.00%) then it will be coal with 22.30%.
In both 2008 and prediction in 2030, energy sources such as wind and hydro made up a small fraction of overall pie charts, wind energy sources took about 0.30%, which was higher than hydro(0.20%) and this trend might continue until 2030 with the fraction of wind(0.90%) higher than hydro (0.70%). In 2008, solar energy was occupied by about 0.80% until 2030. It might be replaced with geothermal with a much higher percentage (4.30%). Other energy sources might remain unchanged through times with 4.30%
