The pie charts illustrate energy production in Australia in the year 2008 and forecasts for the year 2030. Overall, it is evident that three main energy sources will hold their positions, despite of some fluctuations, according to analysts.
To begin with, in the year 2008 biggest energy supplies was coal production, made up 39 percent of total output, closely followed by oil energy, accounted for 32,5 percentage. The third largest energy contributor was gas source, constituted roughly 23 percent. Other types of energy had a share of 4,3 percent. Renewable sources such as Solar energy, Wind energy and Hydro energy combined made up round 1,5 percent, that indicated poor infrastructure of these sectors.
In the year 2030, largest portion of energy production will have oil energy, which will slightly increase to the level of 35.5 percent. Gas production expected to have significant growth to round one-third of total output, meanwhile Coal energy will lose its position and predicted to decrease to a point of 22.3%. Remarkably, the share of other types of energy will be the same, make up 4,3 percent in 2030. In contrast with 2008, renewable energy sources will be marginally developed, accounting above 5 percent. Solar energy will be replaced with Geothermal sources, which make up about 4%. Wind and Hydro energy sources expected to have increase to a level of 0.9 and 0.7 percent respectively.
