The diagram deluriates how city looked in 1950 and its current appearence. Overall, the city has transformed considerably with the addition of transport facilities and expansion in business district. These changes in city allows accomodate much population compared to the past.
In 1950, the city was much smaller with its mere 20,000 population. There were two major highways: one stretching from north-east to south and one running from west to east. These highways met in the center of business facility, which in fact used to be smaller compared to its current look. The road from south to north-east, there was a bridge accross the river. Just the south of this river, next to bridge, there was a government building. Finaly, at the eastern end of the city, airport was situated.
The city has changed dramatically since then, with its population growing tenfold. The major transformation can be observed in business facility, which almost occupies the major part of urban area. The river has become a lake, with the dam constructed at the eastern part, where airport was used to be, and which also saw a significant expansion. The relocation of the government building which also got bigger in size, allowed a new major road to be constructed from east to west which is linked to its original highway path.
