Task Response

The report covers the main features of the redesigned café and makes some comparisons. It mentions the overall expansion, the addition of outdoor seating and barbecue, the replacement of the serving area with hot meals, the change from bin to recycling bins, and the repurposing of staff dining rooms. However, there are some omissions and minor inaccuracies: the report does not mention the separate areas for hot meals, salad bar, take away food, and coffee bar in detail, nor does it specify the number of tables and chairs in the outdoor area. Additionally, there are some spelling and grammatical errors (e.g., 'refourbishment', 'seperate', 'Recyclying', 'seoperate') that affect clarity. To improve, ensure all key features are described accurately and proofread for language errors.

Coherence & Cohesion

The report has a logical structure, but the flow is disrupted by frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes inaccurate, making the message harder to follow. To improve, focus on using a range of linking words and phrases accurately, and ensure each paragraph has a clear central idea. Also, use appropriate referencing and substitution to avoid repetition.

Lexical Resource

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but there are several spelling errors (e.g., 'refourbishment', 'Recyclying', 'seoperate') and some inappropriate word choices (e.g., 'development' instead of 'redesign', 'places' instead of 'areas'). To achieve a higher score, use a wider range of precise vocabulary related to describing changes and locations, and ensure correct spelling and collocation.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

The report contains numerous grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure issues. There are also punctuation errors (e.g., missing commas, run-on sentences). To improve, practice using a variety of complex structures accurately, and proofread to eliminate basic errors. Focus on constructing clear, grammatically correct sentences.
