The pictorials demonstrate the transformations made to the general layout of a student common room across 5 years.
Overall, the room has undergone significant modernisation, with the inclusion of several amenities – more accessible recreational services and an electronic appliance – serving daily needs. Additionally, the most notable modifications are the reduction in the seating capacity and the introduction of various table shapes in the common room.
Regarding the previous simple design, there was an entrance to the western side of the room leading into the main building, where the majority of the area was spared for the setting of four round tables along with chairs. Moreover, a bookshelf was placed at the bottom-left location, adjacent to the sitting area. In the north, the students were provided with numerous cooking utensils, including a cupboard, sink, two benches, a microwave and a refrigerator.
The communal room was renovated 5 years later with more facilities. In the centre, one has been eliminated to make way for loptops bench, and one was replaced with a long rectangular ten-seater table to encourage more participation, while two out of four tables remained unchanged. In the entertainment area on the right-hand side, a drinks machine has been newly launched, right below that is a combination of armchairs and a television for relaxation purposes. Apart from the cupboard, sink, and refrigerator staying the same, one of the two benches has been altered with another microwave.
