The two maps depict the design of a university athletics complex today and how it is expected to change after its renovation.
Overall, the plan is to enlarge the athletics complex’s sides and add amenities such as a leisure pool, a cafe, a shop, and dance studios.
At the moment, the athletics complex features a 25m pool located centrally, with a reception area at the southern entrance. Neighboring the pool is a changing room to the west and a seating area to the east. To the east and west of the building are two separate outdoor courts.
In the renovation plan, the overall structure becomes significantly more complex. The central area containing the 25m pool, seating, and reception remains unchanged. However, the outdoor courts will be removed. With the new space outside, the complex will increase in size on both sides where the courts were. On the western side, a leisure pool will be added next to the original changing room, and a new changing room and a sports shop will be constructed to the southwest. On the eastern side, a sports hall will be added next to the seating area, with two dance studios and another changing room placed further east. Additionally, a cafe will be added just southeast of the reception.
