The maps illustrate the current layout of Southwest Airport and the proposed modifications scheduled for next year.

Overall, the airport will undergo a significant expansion, primarily characterized by a major increase in the number of boarding gates and the introduction of several new passenger facilities and transport links.

Currently, the airport has 8 gates located at the end of a single walkway. However, this will be replaced by a large Y-shaped concourse housing 18 gates. To facilitate movement, a sky train will be installed to transport passengers along this new structure.

In the main terminal, the departures area will be upgraded to include a bag drop service alongside the existing check-in desks, while a new ATM and car hire desk will be added to the arrivals section. The central hall, which currently only contains a security and passport control point, will see the addition of a dedicated shopping area before the gates.

Externally, the airport’s accessibility will be improved. While the current site lacks a rail link, a new railway line will be constructed to provide direct access to the terminal. Despite these extensive changes, the positions of the main entrance and exit will remain constant.
