The table illustrates the proportion of consumer expenditure by category in five different countries in 2002.
At first glance, it is apparent that Turkey spent the most money on food items and leisure or education, while Italy spent the most on clothing or foodwear. In addition, the largest part of the expenditure spent on food, drinhs or tobacco.
Looking at the table in more detail, one can see that the data for Turkey took the lead at 32.14% for food items , while Sweden spent the least with 15.77% of its total expenditure on these products. Moreover, the figure for Italy and Spain accounted for 16.36% and 18.80% on food, drinks and tobacco, respectively. Furthermore, Ireland paid 28.91% of its national budget on food/drinks/tobacco.
Moreover, Ireland, Spain and Turkey spent more than 6% of their national funds on clothing and foodwear, whereas Sweden spent the least with 5.40% of its total expenditure on these products. Meanwhile, Italy’s figure was the highest, accounting for 9.00% of its total budget.
In contrast, Italy and Sweden spent more than 3% of their national funds on leisure and education, whereas the data for Ireland allocated for 2.21%. Additionally, Turkey’s figure was the highest, accounting for 4.35% of its total budget, while Spain spent the least with 1.98% of its total expenditure on these products.
