The data illustrates daily cost, and how much of every day wage paying for water takes up in five different countries: Tanzania, Uganda, Pakistan, the UK, and the US.

Overall, it can be seen that water in lesser developed countries is more expensive, compared to the UK and the US. Consequently, more of a person’s daily wage goes to buying water.

Daily cost of water in Tanzania is 6.4 cents per person, which is less than 6 percent of average daily wage. Uganda follows in second with 3.2 percent of every day earnings and 4.1 cents is spent day-to-day. Moreover, Similarly, Pakistan has a high average daily percentage with a little over 1 percent and daily expenditure of 1.76 cents.

In contrast, the UK and the US residents only dedicate a small fraction of their earnings on water, 0.013 and 0.006 respectively. However, if we consider day to day spending, 1.3 cents for the UK are close to Pakistan. But there is a huge gap in the fractions of day-to-day gains spent on water.

In conclusion, payments for water in third-world countries takes up more of their salaries compared to the UK and the US.
