The presented chart illustrates data about the percentage of people living in urban areas in six various countries such as Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania in 1950, 2000, and 2050.
Overall, it can be observed from the graph that at the beginning of the period North America and Oceania showed an upward tendency, whereas Asia and Africa experienced a downward tendency in urbanisation. In contrast, in the middle of the period and at the end Asia and Africa saw a moderate rise, while Latin America and North America had a dramatic increase.
To begin with, Africa and Asia reached a meager percentage(15-17%) of people living in urban areas, while other countries such as Europe, and Latin America had 42-52% of people in urban areas. However, following years both counties saw a constant improvement in urbanisation. In 2050, these countries would reach 62-66%, but would lower than other countries.
In 2000, Europe and Latin America reached merely two-third percent of people, while North America reached a peak, and also it saw a dramatic rise. By contrast, Latin America and North america will have more people who live in urban areas, while Oceania and Europe will rise slowly to 76% and 82%.
