The table graph illustartes the proportion of men and women working in four types of industries in one town in 1990, 2000, and 2020.Overall, the graph shows that there were types of employment where male workers dominate, such as work in shops and in manufacturing, and professions where female workers dominated, including Health industry and tourism.
To begin with, the percentage of men in retail industry stood at 13 percent throughout the period, while the number of women rose gradually from 7 percent to 9 percent. In 199, 30 percent of men were employed in manufcturing, in 2000 – 15 percent, and in 2010 10 percent.At the same the percentage of women in this industry saw a slight growth from 7 to between 1990 and 2000, but dropped dramatically to 3 in 2010.
In jobs related to heathcare, the share of men remained at 7 percent in 1990 and 2000, but went up to 9 in 2010, whereas the percentage of women working in this field increased from 9 percent to 15 over time. Within the period between 1990 and 2000, the percentage of male workers in tourism went down from 13 to 10 and remained stable by the end of period.Meanwhile the share of female workers started at 23 percent and increased by 2 percent in each time point.
