The data depict the proportions of employed males and females in different sector within three decades. In general, the number of employed females increasing over the decades except in manufacturing sector, whereas the number of employed males decreasing or stagnant except in health sector.
It can be seen in the data, tourism contributed the most to employment of females and the number substantially increased over 1990 (23%), 2000 (25%) and 2010 (27%). In contrast, manufacturing, retail and shops show the least contibution which just below 10% over the decades. Health sector shows gradually increased in employing females worker with 6% over three decades while the proportion in males remained the same in first two decades and demostrated slight rise in 2010 about 2%.
On the other hand, proportions of employed males reduced in number over the decades except in health sector and retail/shops which slight increase about 2% and remain stable respectively. In 1990, most of male workers employed in manufacturing followed by retail/shops and tourism with 30% and 13% respectively. However, dramatically fall of number of employed males in manufacturing in three decades with one fifth of total reduction.
