The table illustrates about funds given by public to different five arts sectors in the United Kingdom between 2010 and 2020 as well as change in percentage.
In terms of visual arts such as exhibitions and projects, that category registered most growth in funding than other sectors from 120 million pounds to 145.5 million pounds in 2020. Likewise, funding for music stood at 450.8 million pounds in first year, and it was increased by 13.2% to 510 million in later year. Moving further , museums and galleries, which was the most funded category in 2010 saw a considerable increase in funding from general public. It was accounted for 950.5 million in 2010 and after a decade it was climbed by 74.5 million pounds which was a change of 7.8%.
In contrast, the period between 2010 and 2020 witnessed a decrease in funding for theatre and performing arts, it was 720 million and 685 million in 2010 and 2020, respectively. Literature accounted for the lowest amount raised by public at only 85.2 million in 2010 and then sharply dropped by 11.4% to 75%.
Overall, funds increased for all categories except theatre and literature. In addition, museums and galleries was most funded sector and literature was the least invested category in both years.
