The given table illustrates information and predictions about change in percentage of elderly people in three countries i.e Canada, Germany and UK . Overall, the population of elderly people seemed to be increased by the year 2030.
As can be seen from the table, the percentage of population of old age group was high in Germany initailly during the year 1988. In 2000, percentage of elderly people increased rapidly in Canada and Germany and went to 20.45 per cent and 25.32 per cent but there was only slight change in percentage in UK i.e from 14.23 to 14.89 per cent. Similarly, the population of old aged group seemed to increase during interval of 3 decades and went to 26.35 per cent in Canada, 30.42 per cent in Germany and 20.35 per cent in UK by 2030.
In the nutshell, percentage of population aged 65 and above is increasing maybe due to healthy lifestyle that people are choosing.
