The table provides data about the change in the proportion of the citizens aged 65 plus in three countries.
Overall, it can be clearly seen that there is an upward trend in the percentage of aging population in Canada, Germany and UK. In addition, Germany is expected to have the highest percentage while the smallest percentage is UK from 1988 to 2030.
Between 1988 and 2000, the percentage of older people in both Canada and Germany rose by approximately 5% to 20.67% in Canada and 25.32% in Germany respectively. On the other hand, UK’s proportion still remained stagnant through those years as the information shown.
Regarding 2030, it is expected that all three countries’s percentage of the 65-year-old individuals or more will soar by roughly 5.5%. As can be obviously seen, Germany is forecast to have highest percentage of 30.42% and UK is predicted to be the lowest with 20.35%.
