The presented table compares the portions of lawyers pursuing careers in various fields in a nation between 2001 and 2016.
Overall, the majority of surveyed lawyers worked for the authorities over the given period. Additionally, whilst private companies and businesses attracted more female lawyers over time, their counterparts’ engagement in private sectors and others increased.
A closer examination of the table reveals that whereas 45% of men, 4% higher than that of women, selected law occupations in governments in 2001, it underwent a mild decline and then became 4% smaller than the female group’s percentage over 15 years. Meanwhile, both male and female groups initially exhibited 14% in choosing jobs in business, after which only the former’s data remained unchanged, and the statistics of latter ascended by 7% in 2016.
As regards the least favoured category, careers as private lawyers experienced fractional increases of 4% in both genders within 15 years, resulting in men and women groups ending with 19% and 21%, respectively. In stark contrast, other sectors recorded a slight growth to 29% from men and a moderate drop to 16% from women over the same time frame.
