The given table illustrates the changes in the percentage of lawyers working in various industries in a particular country between 2001 and 2016.
Overall, it is noticeable that the Government sector had the highest percentage for both genders throughout the period. However, while the proportion of both male and female lawyers increased in Private Layer and Business industries, the opposite was true for the Government and Other industries.
The figure for both Private Lawyer and Business categories had an increase. The percentage of Business male lawyers stayed steady over the period, whereas that of women leapt to 21% in 2016. During this time, Private lawyers also saw increases from 15% to 19% in males, and from 17% to 21% in females.
In 2001, the percentage of lawyers in the Government sector was about 45% male and 41% female. Over 15 years, although the figure for females slightly rose by 1%, the rate of men who work in this area declined significantly from 45% to 38%. Also, the Others industry revealed a decrease trend in the portion of female lawyers, falling from 28% in 2001 to 16% in 2016.
