Overall, most lawyers worked in the government sector in both 2001 and 2016. Additionally, the percentage of lawyers in all fields witnessed an increase to some extent in 2016 except for male in the government and female in others.
In 2001, while 15% of male and 17% of female worked in the private lawyer, this figure grew slightly in 2016, accounting for 19% and 21% respectively. In addition, the year 2001 saw a same figure in both genders working in the business, at 14%. This figure remained unchanged for women in 2016; however, the figure for men increased significantly to 42%.
Regarding the government, the percentage of lawyers working in this sector consistently accounted for the highest figure for both male and female over the period, standing at 45% and 41% in 2001, 38% and 42% in 2016, respectively. Besides, while the number of lawyers working in other sectors increased to 29% for male in 2016, the opposite was true for female, which fell incredibly from 26% to 16%.
