The number of cars manufactured considerably grew from 735,852 in 2003 to reach a peak at 1,162,356 in 2006, followed by a slight decline in the latter half of the period. In contrast, Thailand’s production remained the largest, with about double that of Argentina and four times that of Australia at the end of the period.
The production of cars in Australia and Argentina showed a gradual change between 2003 and 2009. Argentina had the smallest car production with only 235,088 in 2003, but the number rose to 466,089 in 2009, after surpassing Australia in 2006. Meanwhile, Australia’s data witnessed a decline from 452,163 in the first year of the period to 245,624 in the last year.
