The given table presents the number of people in five different age groups who used to cycle in a specific municipality in 2012.
Overall, females had a greater propensity to cycling in all age categories in compared to boys, and popularity of bicycles continued to decline among both genders within all ages with the exception of individuals above 60.
To begin, it is noticeable that the youngest age group (0-9) had the highest proportion of using bicycles, with 52.5% for girls and 51.2% for boys. Following this, the popularity of bicycles started to decline significantly, and the number of cyclists among teenagers aged 10-19 was stated at 43.65 of females and 25.1% of boys. However, the most dramatic decrease in the usage of bicycles occurred in the age group of people between 20 and 39, and the number stood at 18.2% for women and 10.8% for men.
Interestingly, relatively smaller decline of cyclists occurred among individuals around 40-59, less than for 5% for each. Finally, cycling trend had gained some revival among elderly people above 60, and the population of cycling rocketed to 19.8% of females, and 14.6% of their counterparts.
