The given table demonstrates information about different types of families and their poverty status in Australia in the year 1999.
The table shows that the proportion of single poor families is more than the proportion of poor couples. For example, the percentage of poor single aged people is one and a half times more than the percentage of poor aged couples. Moreover, the ratio of poor single childless people is 12% more than the ratio of childless poor couples.
We can also see from the graph which groups are more inclined to poverty. So that the proportion of all poor aged people is just 10 percent. Meanwhile the percentage of poor parents is 33%!
To sum up we can indicate two symptoms of poverty: singleness and the strange thing is youth.
