Band 5+: The table below shows the result of a survey that asked 6800 Scottish adults (aged 16 years and over) whether they had taken part in different cultural activities in the past 12 months.

The table illustrates the participation of 6800 Scottish adults (aged 16 years and up) in a variety of cultural activities over a year.

It is noticeable that any performance, which includes dancing, singing, planning musical instruments, and acting had the highest level of participation, while computer-based activities had the lowest level of joiners among all age groups in the last 12 months.

People aged between 16-24 years old who participated in any performance, which was the most popular activity with 35%. Conversely, undertaking any crafts was mostly enjoyed in the age group of 45-74, at 22%.

Visual art was significantly important among those 16-24 aged with 30% beside performances and then followed by writing at 17%. Other skills were the lowest at 11% and 10% respectively. In cultural and any performance, 45-77 old age contributed to 18% and 17%. However, both of them were equal percentages. It is clear from the evidence that age crucial role in the popularity of the cultural activities listed.
