Overall, the major reason over the whole twenty-year period was a desire to see a specific performer/artist, while the manor reason was work/business reasons. During the period, the rates of people attending arts events for a special occasion/celebration and accompanying children have seen an increase and a decrease respectively.
As the graph shows, the percentage of people who attended to desire to see a specific performer/artist has fluctuated relatively, varying from 58% 20 years ago to 55% 10 years ago, before recovered to 56% today. There has been a grow in people attending events for work/business, from 6% 20 years ago to 11% today.
Otherwise, the proportion of people who attended because of accompanying children has increased significantly, from 9% to 24% for 20 years. The rate of people attending arts events for special occasion/celebration has surged from 27% to 9% between 20 years ago and today.
