The table illustrates forested land in million of hectares in different regions of the world through 1990, 2000 and 2005.
Throughout the period, almost region have tendency of declining except Asia and Europe which shown the upward trend. The Oceania forested area was lower than others in both three years of period.
Firstly, both Europe and Asia shown the increase when in 1990, forested spaces of Europe was 998 milion hectares then climbed to 998 in 2000 then finally hit the peak at 1001 million hectares in 2005.
The trend of Asia was fluctuated when it owned 576 million hectares in 1990 then gruadually fell to 570 then slightly rose to 584 million hectares of forested area. While both of two trends shown an increase, it can be seen a downward trend in Africa when the number of million hectares area of it stood at 749 in 1990 then dropped to 709 in 2000 and hit the bottom at 691 in 2005.
A downward trend can be seen in both 3 trend which are North America, Oceania and South America. Ocenia was the region that owned the most limited area which is just 199 million hectares in 1990 then continually dropped to 197 in 2005. North America was owned 708 millions forested area then it remained constantly in both 2000 and 2005 at 705 millions hectares. South America which shown the most significantly declined when it stood at 946 000 000 hectares in 1990 then sharply fell to 882 million hectares in 2005.
