Overall, among the total numbers of genres, drama and documentary were common among British and Irish individuals, followed by comedy. It is also need to mention that comedy was successful in terms of revenue.
In 2012, drama and documentary shared similar premiers, the highest figures among all regions, which was 23.6% out of all premiers – the basic difference was revenue (8.3 versus 2.9). Comedy was the second highest common among individuals – 26 debuts (17.6% out of 100%) and profit of 45.4% – and the successful one. Horror was second victorious film in terms of yield – 20.2%. Biopic, on the contrary, focused on quality rather than numbers which made it gains 9.1% from ticket sales.
By contrast, thriller experienced 13 debuts out of 148 with 1.3% income. Category “Other” showed 8 premiers with 3.2% profit. Crime, action, and romance showed the lowest numbers throughout the period in all categories – number of premiers, percentage of all releases, and percent of income from ticket sales – which made them the lowest category in the chart.
