The table gives information about the levels of expenditure on healthcare per inhabitant in five countries, namely Australia, Germany, the United States, Japan and the United Kingdom in the year 2019. Overall, the spend on healthcare was similar across the majority of the featured countries, except for the U.S where there was a relatively large gap to the remaining throughout this period.
The highest amount of spending on health per head recorded was in the United States in 2019, with 11,072 dollars. This was roughly double the second highest figure reported in Germany, with only 6,646 US dollars spent per person in the same year. Following on from Germany, the spending just below this level was also observed in Australia, where each person spent around 1,500 dollars less.
The disparity between the two remaining countries was less apparent in comparison with the mentioned countries. At the end of the scale, total expenditure per capita on healthcare for Japan amounted to 4,823 dollars, and the United Kingdom, whose people only spent more than a hundred dollars each, recorded the lowest value across the given nations.
