The table illustrates the number of visits to the UK by seven different countries, categorised by two travel modes (air or tunnel) in 2015 and 2021.
Overall, it can be understood that, the number of visits to the UK increased for all countries except Portugal, prticularly those using air, while the number of tunnel travels showed a mixed pattern.
In terms of air travels, Germany had the highest number of visits to the UK in both years( 2070 in 2015 and 2129 in 2021). France and Italy followed, France increased from 1339 to 1441 and Italy rose from 1445 to 1562. Belgium and Sweden followed, Belgium increased from 167 to 183, while Sweden increased from 756 to 766. But the number of visits by air to the UK, Portugal was the only country who visits number decreased.
For tunnel travel, Belgium and France had the largest statistics of visits to the UK in each year. Belgium contained 569 visits in 2015 and 746 visits in 2021. Germany visits number also increased from 141 in 2015 to 218 in 2015 as well as Bulgeria rose from 6 in 2015 to 12 in 2021. Rest of the countries visits number decreased, while Sweden visits number decreased significantly(19 in 2015 and 3 in 2021).
