Overall, for both cocoa beans and coffee, the UK had the highest sales in both years, while Switzerland had the lowest sales for both categories in both years. A notable feature is that every country’s sales for both categories increased twice in 2005 compared with 2000.
For cocoa beans, the sales in the UK were 13.6 million euros in 2000 and 27.3 million euros in 2005. France had the second-highest sales, with 4.6 million euros and 9.3 million euros. In 2000, sales in Germany and the Netherlands were 2.6 million euros and 2.4 million euros, and in 2005, sales were 5.2 million euros and 4.8 million euros respectively. Switzerland was the last country in the list, with 0.9 million euros in 2000 and 1.8 million euros in 2005.
For coffee, the ranking was the same as that of cocoa beans, with the UK having the highest sales, at 68.3 million euros in 2000 and 137 million euros in 2005. In 2000, sales in France, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland were 32.6, 24.5, 15.2 and 7.5 million euros respectively, and in 2005, sales were 65.2, 49.1, 30.3 and 14.9 million euros respectively.
