Given are the tables describing the information about the consumption and the production of potatoes in five different countries.
Overall, it is noticeable that Europe was definitely the most consumers of potatoes and rank the second exporters of the production of potatoes. While Asia was the largest exporters, Africa was the lowest consumers as well as was the lowest exporter in this list.
Looking at the consumption of potatoes, Europe was about 96,1 kg per person, the numbers for North America and Asia were a slightly slower with the respective figures being 57,9 kg per person and 25.8 kg per person. Finally, 23.6 kg per person was the consumption o potatoes for South and central America , followed by Africa’s figure was about 14.1 kg .
Regarding to production of potatoes, the figure for Asia was the highest at 131,2 million tonnes, followed by Europe (126.3 million tonnes) and North America (24.7 million tonnes). South and central America and Africa was the lowest producers of potatoes in this category with the respective figures being 15.4 million tonnes and 16.4 million tonnes.
