The two tables below display data about how many potatoes that produced and eaten by five different continents in 2006.
Overall, it is clear that Europe consumed the largest amount of potatoes and Asia was the region that produced the most potatoes. Meanwhile, Africa ate the least consumption of potatoes, and South and Central America produced the least amount of carbs.
By analyzing Table 1 in more detail, Europeans ate 96.1 kilograms of potatoes for a year. However, it seems that potato food wasn’t popular in Africa. One person in Africa only consumed one-quarter of potato consumption in Europe.
Table 2 gives more information about the production of potatoes in more detail. Asia produced 131.2 million tonnes of potatoes in 2016. The potato available in Asia didn’t seem consumed well by Asian people. Asian people only eat 25.8 kilograms per person which places a third of the least consumption from all parts of the world. On the other hand, potatoes didn’t grow much in South and Central America. South and Central America only produced 15.6 million tonnes in a year.
