The table illustrates the relative of GDP that five countries- Japan,Italia,German,France, and the USA allocated to healthcare services in 2002.The data is divided into total spending ,public spending ,and private spending.
Overall,France spent the highest percentage of its GDP on healthcare,while Japan had the lowest.In all countries ,public spending significantly exceeded private spending,with varying degrees of difference.
France led in total healthcare expenditure at 11.4% ,with 8.6% coming from public sources and 2.8% from private ones.Germany followed with 9.3% total spending,largely due to a strong puplic contributions.The USA ,although ranking in total healthcare spending ,had a relatively high proportion of private soending at 2.6%,second only to France.
Japan and Italy invested less in healthcare ,with totals of 7.7% and 7.2%.Both had lower levels of private spending compared to other nations ,particularly Japan, where private expenditure was only 1.4%.
To sum up,we can say that public funding dominated healthcare investment across al five contries ,however the proportion and balance between puplic and private spending was very different
