The figure displays the amount of imports from Australia and Japan into New Zealand within the timeframe, 1994 to 2004. From the graph, it is observed that the amount is in million of New Zealand dollars, and as for the trends, there are fluctuations over the time period for the both countries.
When looking at the starting point of the both countries, it is clear that the starting point of Australia is greater than that of Japan by 1000. As for the finishing point, Australia is again is higher than Japan by four times the amount. In addition, the highest point for Australia was in 2004 whereas Japan was near the end of 1996. For the lowest point, Australia hit the bottom in 1999 and Japan in 2004.
As for the trend, the graph with the imports from Australia shows the upward trend whereas Japan shows the downward trend although both trends do not display linear progression or degression and have numerous fluctuations.
