Both maps illustrates the west of ireland’s low populated village from 2000 to today.
Overall, although population of the rural settlement has been dramatically increased during the years shown, some features remaind the same. New settlements have been built over the years.
In 2000, there were a copule of house and one hotel at the center of the village, and there were farmland in the northwest corner of the map. At the seaside, there were a dock with some boats and a market.
Presently, the farmland in the north-western part of the village has been converted to a park, while roads have been expanded due to accommodate more houses in the north-west area, and at the north-east corner, extra settlements have been constructed. Additionally, a car park has been built west of the hotel, and the martket in the southern area has been rebuilt into restaurants, also dock which was located in the river has been demolished. but the shops on the westremains unchanged.
