Overall, housing was the most significant contributor by far in both years. Housing also increased its dominance, whilst all other sources of a household expenditure lost its share except leisure and entertainment.
The three biggest sources of a household spending in 2010 were housing, food and transport, with 32%, 24% and 18% respectively. However, whilst housing increased its share to almost 38%. Food and transport saw a notabke decrease to 19% and 15% in 2020.
The remaining two categories were fluctuated over the ten year period. Of the two smallest share, leisure and entertainment increased from 14% to 18% in 2020 made up the fourth largest in both years. Other goods and services went from the smallest proportion from 12% to 10% in 2020.
