The data compares the amount of time male and female students at college spent on studying during 2013
Overall, the language recorded the highest proportion for women, while math for males. Of particular note is that Physics accounted for the smallest percentages for females, whereas Arts and Language represented the smallest share for males.
Focusing on Males. Maths accounted for the largest proportion of their study time, at 35%, followed by Biology at 23%. Figures for Chemistry stood at 19%, whereas percentages for Physics were marginally lower, accounting for 15%. Similar pattern can be seen for Language and Arts at just 4% for each, being the least devoted subjects.
As for female students, Language by far was the most popular subject, accounting for 47% of their study time. Arts and Math represented relatively lower proportions at, 23% and 10%, respectively. Chemistry made up only 9%, while Biology and Physics accounted for only 6% and 5%, respectively
