The bar chart illustrates proportion of male and females who ate the portions of fruit and vegetables recommended by WHO in the UK in 2006, by age groups.

Among young people, only 15% of the males and 17% of the females ate 5+ portions of vegetables and fruits a day. This figure rose slightly for 25-34 age group, accounting for 20% for males and 23% for females. This gradual upward trend continued between 35-44 and 45-54 age group, accounting for 23% for males and 25-26% for females, respectively.
