It can be seen that the population continue growing up from 1950 to 2040 within Urban and Rural populations. Meanwhile on the ages chart, the under-15 group took up highest proportion, while above-65 years old groups accurate the lowest.
In 1950, the total population stood at about 15 million, with roughly 10 million Urban and 5 million Rural residents. By 2020, it had increased to approximately 40 million – 30 million Urban and 10 million Rural and it is forecast to climb further to around 45 million by 2040, with urban dwellers rising to 35 million and rural dwellers to 10 million.
As for the age structures, the under-15 group numbered 7 million in 1950, compared with 5 million from 15-65 group and almost zero aged over 65. By 2020, Youth surged to 25 million, the working age population climbed to 7 million and above 65 years accounted at 5 million. Forecast suggest that by 2040 the youngest group will total 28 million, adults at 9 million, and those over 65 will reach 10 million.
