The two given line graphs illustrate trends in urban and rural population and age structure from 1950 and prediction of 2040 in southern pacific ocean countries.
Overall, it is apparent from the graph that the total population tended to increase over the period given, since urban population trend noticeably soar, while number of people in rural areas remained stable. The second graph clearly demonstrates that the people in the age of 15-65 soared and was the most widely spread group among others. The data provided in the graph suggests that minors (under 15) and old people (over 65) had a plateau.
With regards to the number of people in urban areas, it began at around 5 million people in 1950 and then went up. Likewise, it was predicted to hit a peak at 35 millions in 2040. It is evident from the second graph that the moderate age of the total population is 15-65 since it had a substantial growth from 5 millions in 1950 and predicted 35 millions in 2040.
On other hand, the population in rural areas barely changed as did number of minors and old people, these figures had quite a minor leap and remain flat for over the period given, composing about 5 millions each.
