The above chart illustrates how unemployed men and women spend their morning and afternoon hours in the United Kingdom last year. Majority of both men and women spend their time doing house chores and shopping. In morning hours up to 49 % of women did housework and 19 % of men participated in the same. Job hunting was also a common activity with 22 % of morning men and 16 % of morning women going out to look for employment.
More unemployed men spent their time gardening, decorating and playing sport in comparison to women who preferred to visit their loved ones. Additionally, both men and women who rose early in the morning would sit in bed longer than those who woke up after midday.
The least favorite pastime across both genders was playing sport and drinking with only 1 percent of women and about 3 percent of men going out for a drink. Overall, the unemployed citizens participated in more meaningful work in the morning hours than in the afternoon.
