Overall, both the amount of funding and the number of members showed an upward trend by the end of the period. However, while funding increased steadily, the number of members experienced a significant drop before recovering.

In Year 1, the council donated just over £20,000 to book clubs. This figure rose slightly to about £23,000 in Year 2. A sharp increase was then seen in Year 3, when the amount peaked at approximately £40,000. In the final year, the funding fell slightly but remained high at around £36,000.

Regarding membership, there were about 15,000 members in Year 1, followed by a small decrease to around 14,000 in Year 2. The number then dropped sharply to approximately 6,000 in Year 3, which was the lowest point of the period. However, it recovered in Year 4, rising to nearly 12,000 members.
